THE TEACHING METHODS OF THE INSTITUT

Theoretical Lectures and Case Histories

Dr. Yvan Poitras complements all of his theoretical lectures with numerous illustrations of case histories, the fruit of more than ten years of practice in oral implantology.

Live Surgical Demonstrations

The design of the Institut enables the participants to simultaneously observe and ask questions as surgeries are performed “live” by Dr. Poitras.

Laboratories

An Essential complement to the theoretical lectures, the lab sessions enable participants to manipulate, experiment and integrate the techniques studied in the theoretical sessions.

“Hands-on” experience with patients

An important element of the learning process, the twelve surgical suites offer the dental health care professional the opportunity to treat his or her own patients, under the supervision of qualified teachers, in order to master the prosthetic and surgical procedures. Participants who have no patients on site may assist the treating dentist or observe the surgeries.

Discussion of Case Histories

At the end of each session, the participants are invited to present their cases and discuss their diagnosis and treatment plan.
